The Bently 3500 online vibration monitoring system from the United States is used for mechanical protection applications, for vibration monitoring of large and medium-sized rotating machinery such as steam turbines, compressors, fans, water pumps, coal mills, gearboxes, motors, etc. It is widely used in steel, power, metallurgy, petrochemical petroleum, natural gas, petrochemical, chemical and other related industrial fields. Although TDI provides certain functions that are common to the entire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and will not affect the correct and normal operation of the entire monitoring system. Each 3500 rack requires a TDI or RIM, which always occupies slot 1 (near the power supply).
For Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) applications, the 3500 system requires the TMR version of TDI. In addition to all standard TDI functions, TMR TDI also performs “monitoring channel comparison”.
