Control principle
The direct starting and stopping of the water pump motor will cause sudden torque changes, resulting in water flow and current surges. The impact of water flow causes surging and noise in the water pump system, and in severe cases, it can cause vibration of pipelines and pipe supports, and even rupture of pipelines and valves; Current impact may endanger the safety of electrical equipment such as contactors, and in addition, the impact current can be converted into impact torque, affecting the service life of transmission machinery. Using a soft starter instead of a conventional starting device to solve the above problems, in order to reduce equipment investment and improve the utilization rate of the soft starter, a wiring method with ABB programmable controller (PLC) as the control core and one soft starter controlling multiple motors can be adopted.

The control process is as follows: ABB AC500 series PLC is used as the core of the control system, which can flexibly control the operation of the water pump motor set in the pump station. Not only can strict and certain sequence of unit start and stop control be achieved, but the on-site duty personnel can also determine the start and stop units, the number of start and stop units, and the start and stop sequence according to actual needs. The operation is simple and fast.
