Description

AO2040 24031-0-11100000000 ABB AO200 series analyzer

Gas Analyzer Installation and Gas Connections Guidelines:

Installation Site Requirements:

  • Ensure unobstructed air exchange around the gas analyzer; avoid direct covering.
  • The outlet and pressure compensation vent of the purging and monitoring unit FS870S must not be closed.
  • Protect plastic and elastomer components of the housing against UV radiation.

Requirements for II 3G/Gb and II 2G/Gb Models:

  • Protect the housing against brush discharges or electrostatic charging; clean with a moist cloth only.

Requirements for II 3D/Dc and II 2D/Db Models:

  • Avoid installation in areas with an increased risk of electrostatic charging (e.g., near filling systems).
  • Implement measures for the blow-off vent of the purging and monitoring unit FS870S to prevent zone elevation due to stirred-up dust.
  • Install a suitable key switch to confirm interior cleaning before commissioning.

Connecting Combustion Gas and Combustion Air Supply:

  • Follow the connection diagram for operational gases.
  • Do not open the combustion gas path inside the gas analyzer; leakage can lead to fires and explosions.
  • If the combustion gas path is opened inadvertently, check for leakage using a leak detector once closed again.
  • Regularly check the leak tightness of the combustion gas supply line outside the gas analyzer and the combustion gas path inside the analyzer.

Shut-off Valve in the Combustion Gas Supply Line:

  • Install a shut-off valve in the combustion gas supply line for safety during shutdown, instrument air supply failure, or a leak in the combustion gas path.
  • Place the shut-off valve outside the analyzer house near the combustion gas supply source.

In Case of Instrument Air Supply Failure:

  • Trigger a visible or audible alarm if the combustion gas supply does not shut off automatically during instrument air supply failure.

Note:

  • It is preferable to evacuate the ignition protection gas into a dust-Ex free area.
  • Clean the interior of the housing before switching on the gas analyzer; the initial purging is not for cleaning purposes.
  • Refer to specific pages (mentioned in the text) for detailed procedures and checks related to gas connections, safety measures, and alarms.
