Description
CM577-ETH series 90-30 PLC backplane (on all three kinds of substrates) has a special I/O communication bus. For remote base plate
The optogalvanically coupled and isolated DC-DC power converter provides signals isolated from other substrates.
■ Power bus – connects the power output to the base plate module.
■ I/O communication bus – The CPU communicates with the I/O module through this bus. The bus is connected to the
The cables are connected to the I/O bus of the expansion and process racks.
■ Special intelligent optional template bus – CM577-ETH only has this bus on the CPU base plate; Therefore, some special intelligent optional templates, such as
The programmable processor module (PCM), digital display processor (ADC) and CMM (communication control module IC693CMM311) can only work on the CPU base plate.
Each base plate in the series 90-30 system is identified by a unique number, called “rack number”. Expansion and remote baseplate machine
Rack number is selected by setting DIP switch, which is located on the first slot connector of each base plate. Rack No. 0, always missing
The province is set as CPU rack (CPU base plate has no DIP switch). Rack numbering is not required to be continuous, but for continuity
It is recommended that the rack number should not be skipped (1, 2, 3 – should not be 1, 3, 5). Machine in a system
Rack No. cannot be repeated. The following table shows the DIP switch positions for rack number selection.
Table 3-1. Rack Number Selector Switch Settings

*Rack numbers 5, 6, and 7 are only valid for CPUs 350 and higher.
The number of expansion and remote baseplates that CM577-ETH allows to connect with special CPU templates is generally as follows:
■ 331, 340, and 341 CPUs support a total of 4 expansion and/or remote racks.
■ 350, 351, 352, 360, 363, 364, and 374 CPUs support a total of 7 expansion and/or remote racks.
There is a label on the DIP switch of each base plate, indicating the setting of each frame number. The following figure shows the DIP switch settings
It is an example that # 2 rack is selected.
Note: Series 90-30PLCs must be installed in a protective location. The site should have a proper disperser for the places installed in it
It has the capacity of heat generated by the equipment. Refer to Appendix F for details on calculating heat loss.
Series 90-30 PLC base plate is designed for panel installation. Each base plate has a standard accessory flange for installing a power panel.
For embedded CPUs (331 and 313 are 5-slot substrates, 323 are 10 slot substrates), 5-slot and 10 slot substrates, and modules
The requirements for installation dimensions and installation space of 5-groove and 10 groove baseplates of type CPUs are shown in Figures 3-14 to 3-17.
be careful
All 5-slot baseplates have the same installation dimensions, and all 10 slot baseplates of CM577-ETH have the same installation dimensions
For proper heat dissipation, the base plate must be installed as shown in the following figure.
