Basic Operation of RED615 Microcomputer Protection Device REX521
(1) Monitoring three-phase current and voltage measurement
ABB status in the main menu, that is, the primary value of three-phase current of IL1, IL2 and IL3 and the primary value of IO zero sequence grounding current are displayed.
To view other monitored values in more detail, in the main menu ABB status, right-click “→” to enter the measurement submenu, and click “↓” to view the detailed current and voltage measured values respectively.

(2) , RED615 Viewing Event Records
In the main menu ABB status, right click “→” to enter the measurement submenu, and then right click “→” to enter the event submenu. Click “↓” to view the saved event records respectively. Up to 50 events can be saved, and then they can be overwritten in turn.
Note: The action time of each current is expressed in percentage, and the display value of example t is 100%, indicating tripping; TIf the displayed value is less than 100%, it indicates that it is started.
(3) Reset of starting, tripping, LED alarm lamp failure and RED615 event record
① Reset start lamp: when the yellow start lamp is on, it will automatically turn off after the fault disappears.
② Reset tripping: when the protection fault trips, the red tripping light indicates that the tripping light will remain and the fault output contact will also remain after the fault disappears. The tripping light can reset to off only after pressing the “C”+”E” keys simultaneously for 5 s.
③ Reset the LED alarm lamp: press the “C” cancel button for 2 s under the ABB status of the main menu to reset and extinguish. At the same time, the LCD screen prompts “alarm clearing”, and then press the “C” cancel key to return to the main menu ABB state.
④ Clear all event records: In the event sub state, press the “C” cancel key for 2 S to clear all events.
(4) Steps of modifying fixed value
For example, to change the protection setting of overcurrent protection (I>) from 1.46 In to 1.88 In, the steps are as follows:
① . In the main menu ABB status, press the “↓” key once, and “Protection” appears;
② Press the “→” key to enter the protection setting submenu;
③ . Press “↓” key, and “overcurrent protection” will appear on the screen;
④ Press the “→” key to display the “current fixed value”;
⑤ Press the “→” key to display “Constant value group 1”;
⑥ Press the “→” key to enter the submenu setting of constant value group 1, and “action mode=very inverse time limit” appears on the screen;
⑦ Press the “↓” key and select the submenu “Starting current=1.46”;
⑧ Press the “E” key, and “Enter password: 000” will be displayed on the screen. It is required to enter the operation password. You can use the “↑, ↓, ←, →” keys to change “000” and enter the correct password.
⑨ Press the “E” key, and the screen returns to “starting current=1.46” and flashes. You can use the “↑, ↓, ←, →” keys to change 1.46 to 1.88, and then press the “E” key.
Note: If the microcomputer device is set as the default password “999”, step ⑧ can be omitted. Press the “←” left key or press the “C” key to return to the main menu step by step. For other settings such as time limit current quick break protection, the steps are the same as above. The difference is that after step 3, press the “↓” key until the corresponding “time limit current quick break protection” submenu appears, and then press step 4 for operation.
(5) . Modify time steps
In the main menu ABB status, press the “↓” key seven times to display the “software configuration”, press the “→” key to display the software configuration submenu, press the “↓” key to display the “time” at the last item, press the “→” key to enter, and modify the date and time respectively.
(6) , Chinese and English language switching
General method: In the main menu ABB status, press the “↓” key seven times to display the “Software Configuration”, press the “→” key to display the software configuration submenu, press the “↓” key until the “General” is displayed, press the “→” key to display the general submenu, press the “↓” key to display the “Software”, press the “→” key to display the “Current Language”, press the “E” key to modify the current language.
Shortcut: In any state, press “←”+”E” at the same time for up to 5 seconds. The Chinese and English languages can be switched directly.
(7) Microcomputer panel closing/opening control
Turn the local/remote transfer switch handle to the “remote” position, select “control” from the main menu of the microcomputer, → right-click “manual control”, “→” right-click “local and remote=local”, “↓” click “control CB=breaker opening”, press “E” twice, the high-voltage cabinet will be closed, and press “E” twice again, the high-voltage cabinet will be opened.
