Description
This protocol is the most commonly used protocol, because SCC-C (23070-010132110) robot signal board (such as DSQC652) allows the robot CPU to identify through this protocol, and this protocol requires the support of software options. The Devicenet protocol options are 709-1 Devicenet Master/Class and 840-4 Devicenet Anybus Slase. From the name, we can see that the 709-1 option supports master and slave stations, while the 840-4 option only supports slave stations. Both options require corresponding hardware support.
Robot host computer
A is the hardware location corresponding to 709-1 option, and SCC-C (23070-010132110) requires DSQC1006 board.
Robot host computer
As shown in Figure 1-1, B is the hardware location corresponding to 840-4 option, and SCC-C (23070-010132110) requires DSQC1004 board.
02Profinet protocol
ABB industrial robots support PROFINET software options including 888-2, 888-3 and 840-3, which are slightly different in use.
1.888-2 Profinet Controller/Device, this option supports the robot to be both a Controller and a Device, and the robot does not need additional hardware. (Connect X5 or X6, Figure 1-3)
2.888-3 Profinet Device, this option supports the robot as a device, and the robot does not need additional hardware. (Connect X5 or X6, Figure 1-3)
3.840-3 Profinet Anybus Device, this option supports the robot as a device, and the robot requires additional Anybus Device hardware (Figure 1-3)

03 Profibus protocol
ABB industrial robots support the Profibus protocol software options 969-1 and 840-2. The two options are slightly different in use.
Robot host computer
1.969-1 PROFIBUS Controller option supports robot as PROFIBUS Controller, and robot requires additional hardware PROFIBUS DP Master, as shown in Part A in Figure 1-4.
2.840-2 The PROFIBUS Anybus Device option only supports the robot as a PROFIBUS Device slave, and the robot requires additional PROFIBUS Anybus Device hardware, as shown in Part B of Figure 1-5.
04CC Link protocol
ABB industrial robots support CC Link protocol, but need the support of DSQC378B module. After installing DSQC378B module, the robot converts Devicenet protocol to CC Link protocol.
DSQC378B module,
X8: CC Link bus terminals.
X5: Devicenet communication and address settings
X3: Standby 24V power supply
