Description

Profinet bus is a mainstream communication mode of the robot XO08R2 at present. In the automation equipment, the robot is often used as a slave of the PLC system, so ABB provides a convenient, fast and economical way to achieve communication with the PLC without any additional hardware support.

Concept:
Device: describes a physical unit, especially a slave station in the profinet bus;
Controller: In the profinet bus, it refers to the master station.
XO08R2 Overview:
Software option: 888-3 Profinet Device
Purpose: The robot system XO08R2 can only communicate as a slave of peripheral equipment
(device: slave station. Controller: master station)
Whether hardware is required: no additional hardware support is required
Requirements for control cabinet: DSQC1000 control cabinet
Extension: if the robot needs to be a slave station of PLC and a master station to control some plug-in modules, 888-2 Profinet controller/event should be selected (see the following section for details)

If the Profinet Device (888-3) option is selected, the robot can communicate with PLC only when it is configured in three aspects:
1. First configure the bus information:
Enter Control Panel – Configuration – Industrial Network
Here is a setting of profinet station name. Some PLCs can assign station names remotely and directly. In this case, just check whether the name of this point is consistent with that of the PLC;
If it is not assigned here, you need to manually enter the station name, which should be exactly the same as the name assigned to PLC.

2. Configure slave device information:

After opening, there is a default configuration PN_ Internal_ Device：
After opening: it is required to input the number of bytes communicating with PLC here, which should be consistent with PLC. Up to 256 bytes, remember: 1 byte=8 bit signals
