ABB’s RobotStudio cloud technology enables ABB experts to simulate, optimize and deploy YuMi’s programs from the city of Trausse, Sweden, 12000 kilometers (7460 miles) away, making it perform tasks in the remote jungle and become the “most remote working” robot in the world.

The pilot project of ABB Robot in the Amazon rainforest has further promoted its goal of promoting sustainable transformation through intelligent robots and automation solutions, and has contributed to improving productivity, reducing waste and maximizing efficiency for enterprises. In 2022, ABB Robotics collaborated with the non-profit organization Parley Global Cleanup Network to use 3D additive printing technology to convert marine plastic waste into personalized design works, such as recycled furniture. According to Junglekeepers’ wishes, the pilot project with RobotStudio cloud technology and YuMi robots in the rainforest will last for approximately six weeks (May June 2023). After the pilot project is completed, ABB will explore opportunities to collaborate with Junglekeepers on a broader basis and continue to seek further opportunities for its robot solutions and cloud technology to play a core role in promoting sustainable transformation.
