Description
The FBM222 also supports the FBM223 Passive termination assembly (P0917SY), enabling owners to upgrade to the redundant PROFIBUS communication interface without replacing the TAs and associated field wiring. However, with this TA, the length of the TA-to-FBM cable is included when calculating the maximum network cable length.
A common feature of customer sites that frequently encounter relay problems in the current market is that the output point with faults has a relatively fast action frequency, and the driving loads are all inductive loads such as relays, solenoid valves, or contactors, without absorbing protective circuits. Therefore, it is recommended to pay attention to the following points when selecting and using PLC output types:
1. Be sure to pay attention to load capacity. The output port must comply with the maximum allowable current limit to ensure that the heating limit of the output port is within the allowable range. The service life of a relay is related to the load capacity. When the load capacity increases, the contact life will be greatly reduced, so special attention should be paid.
2. It is important to pay attention to the nature of the load. Inductive loads can generate instantaneous high voltage at the moment of opening and closing. Therefore, on the surface, the load capacity may not be large, but in reality, the load capacity is large, and the lifespan of the relay will be greatly shortened. Therefore, when driving inductive loads, absorption protection circuits should be connected at both ends of the load. Especially when the working frequency is relatively high, it is necessary to increase the protection circuit. From the customer’s usage situation, the improvement effect of adding absorption protection circuit is very obvious. According to the characteristics of capacitors, if the capacitive load is directly driven, it will generate surge current at the moment of conduction. Therefore, in principle, the output port should not be connected to capacitive loads. If necessary, it is necessary to ensure that the surge current is less than the maximum current specified in the specifications.
3. Be sure to pay attention to the frequency of movements. When the action frequency is high, it is recommended to choose the transistor output type. If you also need to drive a large current, you can use the transistor output to drive the intermediate relay mode.
When controlling stepper motors/servo systems, or using high-speed output/PWM waves, or for nodes with high action frequencies, only transistor type PLCs can be used.
