Description

The purpose of grounding is nothing more than to ensure safety and prevent interference. The main purpose of grounding PLC is to suppress interference attached to the power supply, input, and output terminals. Therefore, a correct grounding system is one of the important measures for PLC control systems to resist electromagnetic interference. There are two grounding methods: floating grounding and direct grounding. For PLC control systems, direct grounding should be used.


The specific grounding method is as follows: grounding of the shielding layer of the shielding wire: When the signal source is grounded, the shielding layer should be grounded on the signal side; When the signal source is not grounded, it should be grounded on the PLC side; When there is a joint in the middle of the signal line, the shielding layer should be firmly connected and insulated, and it is necessary to avoid multiple grounding points; When connecting shielded twisted pairs of signals from multiple measurement points to multi core twisted pair main screen cables, each shielding layer should be well connected to each other and insulated, and an appropriate grounding point should be selected for single point grounding.

The wiring of the input and output parts: PLC power lines, I/O power lines, input signal lines, output signal lines, AC lines, and DC lines should be separated as much as possible. The switch signal wire and analog signal wire should also be wired separately, and the latter should use shielded wire and the shielding layer should be grounded. Digital transmission lines also need to use shielded wires and the shielding layer should be grounded. Due to the opposite direction and equal magnitude of currents in twisted pair cables, the noise caused by induced currents can be offset against each other. Therefore, signal lines are mostly made of twisted pair cables or shielded wires.
