Description
Why should I consider the ILX56-PBM (Master) over the MVI56-PDPMV1?
The ILX56-PBM is a higher-performance module built on the latest technology, ensuring availability for years to come.
What’s the biggest difference between the ILX56-PBM and the legacy MVI56-PDPMV1?
The ILX56-PBM supports over 5700 bytes of input and 5700 bytes of output data. To ensure that the data exchange between the PROFIBUS network and ControlLogix backplane is as fast as possible, the AOI will utilize multiple backplane I/O connections for real-time I/O control in large applications.
Why should I consider the ILX56-PBS (Slave) over the MVI56-PDPS?
The ILX56-PBS is built on the latest technology, ensuring availability for years to come.
What’s the biggest difference between the ILX56-PBS and the legacy MVI56-PDPS?
The ILX56-PBS allows for PROFIBUS user configuration to be “locked down” (i.e. PROFIBUS master configuration must completely match). This is a great feature for OEMs.
What can I do with the built-in Ethernet port on the master module?
The Ethernet port can be used for remote configuration, diagnostics, and asset management of PROFIBUS DP and PROFIBUS PA devices. A third-party DP-to-PA converter is required for access to PA devices.
Are the ILX56-PBM or ILX56-PBS backward compatible with the MVI56-PDPMV1 or MVI56-PDPS?
No. We provide training videos and technical notes to aid customers in the seamless transition to the newer platform.
