Description
Eight Discrete Inputs connect to eight DeltaV DI CHARMs – termination assembly model numbers FBM241c / P0916AW, FBM241c / P0916JW, FBM241c / P0916QQ, and FBM241 / P0916AQ.
The capacity of PLC includes the storage capacity (word count) of user memory and the number of I/O points. The selection of PLC capacity should not only meet control requirements, but also leave appropriate margin for backup.
Usually, a logical instruction occupies one word of memory, while instructions such as timing, counting, shifting, arithmetic operations, and data transfer occupy two words of memory. The word count of various instructions in the memory can be found in the PLC product manual.
When selecting storage capacity, a 25% margin can generally be considered based on actual needs. Usually, the I/O points can be considered with a margin of 10% to 15% of the actual needs.
Due to the widespread application of programmable controllers, various models have different instruction systems. From an engineering application perspective, some situations only require logical operations, some require complex arithmetic operations, and some special situations also require specialized instruction functions. From the perspective of programmable controllers themselves, there are significant differences in instructions from different manufacturers. However, overall, instruction systems are language for engineering and technical personnel, and the differences are mainly reflected in the expression and integrity of instructions. Some manufacturers have developed more comprehensive control instructions, some have developed more comprehensive digital operation instructions, and most manufacturers have developed more comprehensive logical instructions. When selecting a model, the following should be noted from the perspective of the command system:
(1) The total number of statements in the instruction system. It reflects all the functions included in the entire instruction.
(2) The type of instruction system. It should mainly include logical instructions, arithmetic instructions, and control instructions, and the specific requirements are related to the actual control functions to be completed.
(3) The expression of the instruction system. There are various ways to express instruction systems, including ladder diagrams, control system flowchart, statement tables, sequence control diagrams, high-level languages, and other expression methods; Some only include one or two expressions.
(4) The program structure of the application software. The program structure has modular program structure and subroutine style program structure. The former is conducive to application software writing and debugging, but the processing speed is slow, while the latter has fast response speed, but it is not conducive to writing and on-site debugging.
(5) Software development tools. When considering the performance of the instruction system, it is also necessary to consider the software development methods. Some manufacturers have also developed specialized software on this basis, which can use general-purpose microcomputers (such as IBM-PC) as development tools, making it more convenient for users to meet their needs.
