With the increasing demand of modern power grids for the peak shaving capability of unit units, Automatic Generator Control (AGC) and Automatic Dispatch System (ADS) have emerged, and thermal power plants urgently need to achieve load control based on turbine following or boiler following for single unit units, The INFI-90 control system introduced by a certain power plant includes the internationally advanced Coordinated Control System (CCS), which can achieve high-quality coordinated control of units. In the practice of coordinating control system investment, the fluctuation problem of load control response and pressure control was solved by modifying the control strategy. The on-site operation shows that the improvement work of the control system is effective, and the effect of coordinating the control system is relatively ideal.
Coordinated control system control method
The coordinated control system combines various automatic control subsystems in a certain way to jointly adapt to changes in unit load, ensuring stable operation of the unit and rapid response to load. Due to the differences in dynamic characteristics, the CCS control system must carry out necessary task coordination between machines and boilers to improve the boiler regulation speed. To maintain the material and energy balance during the load adjustment process, the combustion and water supply automatic control system of the unit must have good regulation and anti-interference performance. At the same time, the CCS control system must have certain fault handling capabilities, and the coordinated main control system is shown in Figure 1.
In order to adapt to the operating conditions of the unit and ensure its safe operation, five operating modes have been set up from the control strategy: ① turbine boiler open loop control, ② machine boiler control, ③ furnace machine control, ④ coordinated control based on turbine following, and ⑤ coordinated control based on boiler following. Among them, 4 is the highest form of unit operation and the foundation for achieving unit ACC. 5 is also an advanced mode of unit operation, but due to the fact that the unit in the factory is a direct flow boiler unit with a direct blowing pulverizing system, the boiler pressure regulation method is difficult to stabilize the unit’s operating conditions during actual operation, and it is not recommended to apply it after testing. The CCS switching logic is shown in Figure 2.
