1) ABB offline programming and simulation technology is adopted, which significantly shortens the time for programming and debugging of the whole system and improves the overall production efficiency. Most robot programming can be done in the Robot Studio environment. First, the relevant robot, turntable model, as well as the three-dimensional model of Precitec laser cutting head and the processed workpiece are imported into Robot Studio, and the AutoPath function is used to automatically generate the programming path according to the workpiece shape model. If necessary, path optimization and collision detection are carried out. Then, by running the robot program virtually, XDD501A101 can observe the robot’s motion path intuitively in the virtual 3D environment of Robot Studio for modification and adjustment. Finally, download the determined robot program to the actual robot controller, and complete the robot programming of the entire system with a small amount of actual debugging. By using this technology in actual production, robot programming can be ready in advance whether it is put into production or changed lines, which greatly reduces the time for debugging on the production site and stopping production, improves production efficiency and expands the return on investment of robot system.
2) ABB Robot True Move and Quick Move technologies are adopted to ensure the robot’s motion accuracy and speed to the greatest extent. Figure 7 shows the small circles cut after process adjustment, with diameters of Φ 6, Φ 8, Φ 10, Φ 12, Φ 14, Φ 16, Φ 20, Φ 30. It can be seen that the thermal deformation of the small circle after cutting is very small, the edge is smooth and clean, and there is no obvious defect. The measurement shows that the trajectory error of the small circle is about 0.1~0.25 mm, which shows that the laser cutting system based on ABB robot has high motion accuracy and cutting accuracy.
